Mobile & Remote Access
Mobile Computing used to simply mean a laptop with an internet connection. Today mobile computing has endless definitions.
We have worked with many of our clients to help make them as efficient as possible when they are away from the office. Some people may choose to go with a laptop that has a cellular air card, so they have internet access virtually everywhere.
Another very popular device is a Smart Phone or PDA phone (like the Motorola Q or Treo). These devices allow you to run a mobile version of Microsoft Windows or Blackberry directly on your cell phone, and synced with your server. With the right equipment and software, you have real time access to your email, calendars, and contacts with in outlook. You also have the ability to view email attachments and edit documents – anything from a word document, excel spreadsheet, or even a Powerpoint presentation. You now have the ability to be on the road traveling and know when that important email comes in, right away.
Net-Aid thinks this technology is so valuable, we use it ourselves! All our technicians are linked to the office via a smart phone. We’d be happy to consult with you to determine what type of Mobile Computing is right for you and develop a plan for implementation.
